Spiritual Direction and Seeds of Compassion

InterSpirituality Day Schedule

Seattle, Washington, USA: Tuesday, April 15, 2008

InterSpirituality Day included panels and dialogues from leading spiritual leaders including the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu. Click here for a full list of dignitaries.

3:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m  Spiritual Directors International sponsored a meditation and prayer silent space in the Orcas Room at Seattle Center. Thank you to Rev. Dr. Patricia D. Brown, Robin Livingston, and Rymii Kaio, for co-leading the creative process that will result in the Orcas Room contemplative environment. 

3:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. There were FREE workshops at Seattle Center.  Liz Budd Ellmann, MDiv, Executive Director of Spiritual Directors International, spoke on a panel with Jamal Rahman, Valerie Lesniak, Ted Falcon and Spring Chen about Nurturing Compassion.

The Youth and Spiritual Connection Dialogue begins with a panel focusing on contemporary children. In today’s complex culture, with problems such as media overload, social pressure, short attention spans, isolation and fear, how do we bring awareness of spirituality and compassion to our children in the first years of life?

In the afternoon, workshops and forums on Spirituality and Compassion will provide participants with practical tools they can contribute to their homes, communities and future generations.
